The service, which had been suspended since January 2026, is now back in action, offering renewed convenience to diamond artisans, business owners, and regular commuters who frequently travel between the two cities.

The resumption of the flight follows intervention by Bhavnagar Member of Parliament and Union Minister of State Nimuben Bambhaniya. After the service was halted in January, she promptly raised the issue and held discussions with Bhupendra Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat, and Harsh Sanghavi, Minister of State for Home Affairs. She urged them to prioritise the restoration of the flight in the interest of public convenience and regional economic growth.
Responding positively to the request, the state government facilitated the immediate restart of the 9-seater aircraft service. The Union Minister expressed gratitude to the state leadership for taking swift action and recognising the importance of air connectivity for Bhavnagar’s development.
Speaking on the occasion, she emphasised that improved transportation links are vital for boosting trade, employment, and regional progress. In addition to the Bhavnagar to Surat Flight, efforts are also underway to resume the Bhavnagar-Mumbai air service in the near future, further enhancing connectivity for business and leisure travellers.
