Husband Sold His Wife: A routine missing person investigation in Gujarat’s Palanpur has uncovered a disturbing case involving allegations that a woman was sold by her husband to a group of men for ₹50,000 and later subjected to sexual assault.
The case, which has drawn significant attention due to its seriousness, came to light after police noticed inconsistencies in complaints filed by the woman’s husband. Authorities say the investigation revealed a chain of events far more troubling than a simple missing person report.
Two Complaints Raised Police Suspicion
According to investigators, the husband initially approached Palanpur West Police Station on May 11, claiming that his wife had gone missing. While officers were still examining the complaint, he reportedly filed another missing person report two days later at a different police station in the city.
The filing of multiple complaints regarding the same incident immediately raised concerns among investigators. Police began a more detailed inquiry to determine why separate reports had been lodged and whether the information provided was accurate.
