Surat Rs 8 Lakh Loot Case Solved Within Hours: Former Employee Among Three Arrested for Planned Robbery

The Surat Crime Branch has solved the Surat Rs 8 Lakh Loot case within a few hours of the incident, leading to the arrest of three accused, including a former employee of the targeted business. The robbery, which took place in the Godadara area on June 4, involved a cosmetics trading firm’s staff member being attacked and robbed of a large cash collection while on duty.

Investigators revealed that the crime was not a random act but a carefully planned operation allegedly masterminded by a former employee who was familiar with the firm’s daily cash movement and working routine.

Robbery Targeted Cash Collection Employee

According to police officials, the incident occurred when an employee of Ramdev Traders, a business dealing in cosmetic products, was carrying a cash collection bag. As he moved through the area, he was allegedly followed by a group of assailants riding a moped.

The attackers reportedly intercepted the employee and threatened him with a knife before assaulting him and fleeing with a bag containing approximately ₹8 lakh. The dramatic robbery unfolded in broad daylight and created panic among people in the vicinity.

Authorities stated that the suspects had removed the number plate from their vehicle in an attempt to avoid identification and make tracking more difficult.

CCTV Footage Played Key Role

The entire sequence of events was captured on nearby CCTV cameras, which proved crucial in the investigation.

Footage reportedly showed three individuals on a moped trailing the employee. Two of them, wearing face coverings, got off the vehicle and chased the victim before attacking him with a stick and a knife. After snatching the cash-filled bag, the suspects attempted to escape.

Several local residents reportedly tried to stop the robbers, but the third accomplice, who remained on the moped, quickly picked them up and helped them flee the scene.

The CCTV recordings provided investigators with valuable visual evidence and helped establish the movements of the accused before and after the crime.

Former Employee Allegedly Planned the Crime

During the investigation, police discovered that the alleged mastermind, identified as 23-year-old Jaydeep Kavadh, had previously worked at the same business establishment around two months ago.

Because of his former employment, he was reportedly aware of the firm’s opening and closing schedules, as well as the movement of large cash collections. Investigators believe this insider knowledge allowed him to identify an opportunity and plan the robbery.

Police said the accused had conducted surveillance of the target for nearly three days before carrying out the attack. Jaydeep allegedly recruited his associate Gopi Satiya and others to execute the plan.

Three Arrested, One Suspect Still Wanted

Following an intensive investigation, Crime Branch teams examined CCTV footage from multiple locations and used technical surveillance along with human intelligence sources to identify the suspects.

The following individuals have been arrested:

  • Jaydeep Babubhai Kavadh (23), resident of Puna Gam, Surat, alleged mastermind of the robbery.
  • Gopi Munnabhai Satiya (21), resident of Kapodra, Surat, accused of providing the vehicle used in the crime.
  • A juvenile reportedly involved in the incident.

Police are also searching for another accused, Rajdeep Zhalabhai Chavda, who remains wanted in connection with the case.
