Relationship Began on Social Media
According to family members, the couple first connected around 15 years ago through Facebook. What started as an online friendship gradually developed into a serious relationship despite the geographical and cultural differences between them.
The Anand resident, Tarunkumar Patel, remained in regular contact with Kajuli, a Muslim woman from Bangladesh. Over time, both expressed a desire to marry and build a life together. Family members claim that Kajuli initially attempted to obtain legal travel documents to come to India. However, efforts to secure a passport reportedly failed after she was allegedly deceived by an agent.
As their relationship continued, Kajuli faced increasing pressure from her family in Bangladesh to marry another man. Concerned that she would lose the opportunity to be with the person she loved, she allegedly made the decision to enter India without proper authorization.
Arrival in India and New Life in Anand
According to the family’s account, Kajuli crossed into India in 2016 and eventually reached Anand district in Gujarat. After arriving, she married Tarunkumar following Hindu customs and adopted the name Kajal.
Over the years, she became an integral part of the local community and embraced the lifestyle of her husband’s family. Relatives say she actively participated in religious ceremonies, visited temples, and followed Hindu traditions.
The couple later had two children. Their elder son is now eight years old, while their younger child is two. Friends and neighbors describe the family as living a quiet and stable life until recent events brought their situation into public attention.
